102 not out is delightful refreshing,light film by OMG DIRECTOR Umesh Shukla.The catch line is बाल है सफेद पर ख्वाब आस्मानी है and जिंदा हो तब तक मरना नही ,पर जियो तो ऐसे जिओ कि भगवान भी बोले कि बेटा और थोडे दिन जिले और कुछ कर मै बाद मे आउंगा। This is exactly the case with Dattatray Vikharia tireless enthusiastic at his 102 not out who wants teach his 75 year cranky colorless old son how to make a delightful living after his (Datta) life ends.The life itself is a gift so jio/ live it being king size, happy nd resolved with the vision to value what exactly to do n what is rightfully the best.(Most of us fail here).Amitabh as Dattatraya is superb. Every time he plays a role he shows an excellent bearing of the characters he plays whether it is buddha ho tera baap ,or pink ,or piku or deewar (New) or Dev in which he plays oldie.His bearing, voice modulations, the exact amount of energy required ,diction is par excellence .Here too his voice is that of an old person but full of life. He has taken rightful care to have guju diction in his dialogues. He has depicted joyfully lifefull old where Rishi kapoor falls little short.But RK is also superb to watch with Amitabh after 27 years that too in a sensible roles.He has superbly shown his transition from cranky to assertive nd confident person.I originally this role wad supposed to have been played by Paresh Rawal But seeing RK one does not feel that .RK has dayalu played well Infact Amitabh RK duo has had value added performance.
The film teaches how to handle oldness nd the tantrums of modern selfish children . It also shows the tragedy nd sorrow of those whose children are away as NRI where their lives r not as simple nd easy as one feels by being here or as it seems or by going there as these people want there parents property to set their lives there. I know quite a few children who go there to higher learning nd continue remaining monies from parents here for higher ,added ,or complementary studies in absence of jobs .nd a a few who still lock themselves for irrational reasons.Like in Reva here also a sensibly emotional person like me feels why n how these NRI get US biased N addict.I have seen even those who cursed to go there have become American by choice after going there.
Screenplay ,dialogues( मै मेरे बेटे को उसके बेटेसे जितने नहीं दूंगा, nd औलाद नालायक निकले तो उसे भूल जाना चाहिए ,सिर्फ उसका बचपन याद रखना चाहिये) acting ,use of old movie songs ,advertisementst is great. All in all it is a film showing jina isika naam hai ,जियो तो ऐसे जिओ।©
